Lightning Arrester Installation Guide
1. In order to reliably prevent lightning strikes, an antenna feeder surge protector can be connected in series at the output end of the antenna and the input end of the protected equipment, which is most suitable for installation near the line entrance and sensitive equipment. In areas with less lightning, you can also use only one antenna without an amplifier. The installation is that the connector types should match. If they do not match, you can use a coaxial converter to convert the interface. The installation method is in series mode. The RF coaxial cable connectors at both ends must be tightened to ensure that the joints are well sealed. In outdoor use, attention must be paid to waterproofing, and must not allow rainwater to enter the interior to cause corrosion damage.
2. The effectiveness of the coaxial antenna-feed lightning arrester largely depends on its installation, especially its connection to the grounding grid. The following points must be strictly observed:
* Equipotential bonding: All installed protectors must be connected to a single ground or ground grid.
* Optimize the connection between the surge protector and the grounding grid: In order to minimize the residual voltage caused by the surge, the wiring of the grounding grid must be as short as possible (less than 50cm), and the cross-section of the grounding wire should be as large as possible (minimum 6mm2). One end is reliably connected to the grounding busbar of the lightning protection system, and can be installed in a straight-through type (installed directly on the grounding plate using a flange plate)
3. Protector installation location: it is most suitable for installation near the line inlet and sensitive equipment.
